Having begun his career in the import/export industry in Rome, Matteo was responsible for $50 million in transactions and supplier relationships. He also collaborated on the creation and sale of an online precious metals trading platform. In 2005, he shifted focus to the hospitality sector where he spent nearly a decade as an owner-manager of multiple food and beverage operations in Italy. In 2012, Matteo co-founded Red Group, a Miami-based real estate development company, where he served as Executive Director. There, he oversaw the acquisition, renovation, and management of more than 100 vacation rental units, converting 12 multi-family buildings from residential to all-suite hotels.

He currently runs operations, management and construction management of the Julia Hotel & the St. Augustine Hotel, two boutique hotels located in South of Fifth in Miami Beach.
